not a clue on space wise.

my htpc currently has a 250gb ssd for windows 8.1 boot drive, and then 2 TB mechanical for storage. eventually i will add more drives to media space.

Why you want a second SSD? If its for storage then just get a spinning disk. More bang for your buck and the OS won't be on it so it won't change speeds.

Yeop, I agree with Juan. Most HTPC setups use SSD as boot drive, and mechanical drives as media storage.

As to dual hard drive Macs....not sure. Some may get the SSD in optical drive since its easier. Install OSX on SSD and then utilize the previous mechanical drive for media storage.

If amazon would pricematch newegg/jet, I would have my SSD already. Got 5% cashback this quarter for chase freedom card and trying to maximize my prime acct too. newegg charges tax in CA, but only sometimes has free shipping. jet no experience yet. still waiting for that amazon pricematch.

Mouse has shipped. Got the Logitech everywhere 2 mouse. Looks pretty bamf and seems to work great. Should get tomorrow. Might try some gaming finally since I couldn't before with my crappy mouse

oh and Cez, if you're going to actually install things to the second drive then an SSD will improve performance in those games/apps. It isn't as noticeable as putting the OS on an SSD but it does speed up game loading and whatnot a little.

With that said, you'll still get more space for your money with spinning disks if you want something large to hold lots of games and animuz.

Aside from music, I don't download anything else and keep on my hardware too long rofl. I'll probably get ssd for Mac first. Unless can get bamf deal for 2 lol.

yeah, SSD for mac would be bamf. Going from spinning to SSD on a boot drive wakes up a machine like crazy.

Dude here was pissed that his laptop was slow as shit (even with 8gb of ram), wanted a new one. We offered to put in an SSD and now he doesn't want a new one unless his dies, even though it's already 4-5 yrs old and is ready for upgrade soon
