Idk about the doors but I'm pretty sure you can just pull the chrome out of the bumpers easily.

From what I read, there is a small hole at each end where the strip tucks into. Otherwise, it's held in with 3M sticky tape. So you'd need to grab the end with a pair of needle nose or a screw driver or something (careful not to fuck up the paint since bumpers are soft). Then once you have the end pulled up, you should be able to just slowly peel the whole thing out. You'll probably have dirt/grime and mounting tape residue to clean up afterwards though.

Look at taxis and shit next time you see any, most of them have it removed because when they are repainting them, it's easy to just pull the strip out and not put it back.

police car package doesnt have the chrome strip. there just sticky tape holding it like juan said. if your remove it you have two holes at the corner on each side. the police cars have two plugs that go inside those holes that are painted body color. you could do it to a regular cv just remove the chrome get the plugs and paint them.

juan most taxis are ex police cars so they never had it.

Yep. Straight from the auction to the paint booth. The auction company groups them up as a package.

I think they definitely prefer CVPIs in bulk, but I do see lots of MGMs and CVLX taxis around here.

And that makes sense, I didn't know that PIs didn't have the strip.
