JW, how the hell do you turn on those spotlights in the pillar? I don't own one but I am a valet so I'm just curious.

I would take Korkah's advice, the Tembo is a work of art.

Blast tracks with grease.
Look for obviously bent/misaligned/fucked up shit. Could just be dying motor.

Nope. Any grease should do. White lithium grease might be good, or some sort of grease that says it's good for sliding applications and therefore won't scrape/bunch up...found something like that once.

This is the stuff I found at Tractor Supply:
http://www.tractorsupply.com/vehicle...14-oz--0804967 Tube says "Special purpose moly no. 2 lithium grease" and "Resists wiping action in sliding or oscillating applications". No idea if it'd work better than regular lithium grease or even regular chassis grease.

I wouldn't pay much for a junkyard motor. Not sure how much a new one is.

Bring a 12v battery from almost anything - cordless drill, radio control car, etc...anything 12v, large enough to drive the motor, small enough to carry comfortably.
Take door panel off, provide power to motor. Bring whatever you'll need to hook it up. I recommend two test jumpers made out of lengths of wire with alligator clips on each end. If the wire going to the motor is accessible enough you could just cut it and touch it to the battery. Never done it before but that's approximately how I'd do it. If the guys at the junkyard are really nice and helpful they might loan you a car battery and the keys for the car you're getting it from. Actually, you could always just use a full-service junkyard. They'll probably have a guarantee.
