I walked Bryant through rooting his S3 this weekend. Still couldn't get play store to work without a data wipe so he just wanted CM10.1 on it instead. He seems happy with it.

gs3 is easy to root has a one click root and an app to unlock

Definitely TWRP. Make sure to backup your IMEI if the guide your reading doesn't tell you.

idk about the sg3 but keep in mind that a lot of root methods change as updates come out so if your phone is on the latest OTA, you may need a newer root method.

again, idk about sg3, that ODIN one may work regardless

pre 4.2 i was on jellybro and went back any time I tried aokp but after 4.2 i likes me some aokp

i downloaded the latest aokp PUB build and the latest Carbon. not sure which to flash
