CV started making weird noise a couple days ago

Its kind of a squeel but its not the brakes cuz it happens as soon as I start CV and while i'm driving

After the car has warmed up for about 10 minutes it stops completely

Mechanic guys says its probably just water in/on the shocks. It rained for a couple days and he thinks water got all up on them and around under the tire area.

He says I should get under there and spray WD-40 or lithium grease everywhere I can reach. Car rides fine so it probably is just le water

it makes it as soon as you START it or as soon as you start moving?

If it does it when you start it but the car is still in park then I highly doubt it's the shocks... sounds more like a belt to me. Can you record a video of the sound and put it on jewstoob?

take a look at the belt, check if it has lil cracks or if the side with the teeth is worn down

is easy to replace your own belt if that's what it is

1. put ratchet into square hole on the tensioner
2. twist it so the belt gets loose
3. remove belt
4. put new belt on
5. twist ratchet again to slide new belt on

done

most recent belt i got was the one right where the alternator is

will look and see if others have sign of fgtness

power steering belt or pump one would be my guess belt either slipping or pump is hanging up a little

yeah its one serp belt. check to make sure your ps fluid aint low and listen to alternator make sure is not roaring or anything.

water pump tensioner or ac comp is only other thing it could be. does it do it worse when wheels cut?

Alt is fine

had it replaced a few months ago

PS fluid is almost full

just had oil change on saturday and all fluids be good pero getting coolant flush and refill soon

water pump could be acting up. you should pop hood then have someone start so you can see whats causing it.

Use a small hose with one end held to your ear and the other end carefully checking areas to find the location of the sound.

Also try a long screwdriver with the handle held to your ear and the tip pressed to various items to conduct sound. This is a mechanics stethoscope if you don't want to spend $3 on one at Harbor Freight.

i saw a mechanic do the screwdriver thing once when alt was bad but he was looking for magnetizim(dats a werd?)

also, would be hard to check for sound since car only makes it for 10 minutes and when cold
