thats probably why they wear so quick
Just found out that the rear pads can have a 1" piston clip or 1.75" clip. CVN says that they seem to be random and the only real way to know for sure which you have is to take the caliper off and measure the piston. fml, was gonna go pick them up today. Guess it will have to wait, don't want to take wheel off in apartment parking lot.

Kourke: Check ALL the oils tonight and daily for a week. Check engine (and maybe transmission) oil every time you get gas (should do this on all vehicles always anyway).
Juan: You're doing it wrong. I have brake buying figured out. Buy OEM (ACDelco, Motorcrap, etc) rotors from Amazon cheaper than the cheapest Chinese crap from parts store. Buy top-of-the-line pads from Autozone with lifetime warranty that they really do honor. ---------- Post added at 08:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:15 PM ---------- Also, ceramic pads might be slightly less likely to squeak, but they're certainly not impervious. Installation techniques, lubricants, wear on other parts, and just dumb luck can all leave even the best products squeaking. Sometimes you just have to change to a different product, ANY different product, to break that resonance frequency coincidence. And NHB, cheap stuff can be ok, but if you drive a lot of miles then lifetime warranty pads from Autozone pay off quickly, and either way you'll almost never beat Amazon's price on rotors with free super saver shipping. Also, I've seen visible casting and machining defects in cheap Chinese rotors from parts stores.

Rick my truck eats them so quick it doesn't matter what I use. To mash weight for rear discs.

That's exactly the reason to buy lifetime warranty shit from AutoZone. Every time it wears out, just go get new ones for free.
Or, gather crap from le junkyard...would be surprised if they want any real money for friction material, probably a buck or two per axle's worth of pads/shoes. Loads of vehicles go to the junkyard with brand new brake parts, at least I constantly see near-new pads and shoes in the junkyard. Brought home a few pads once, lining the bottom of my tool bag. I think they were for crapsuzu so no use for them now. Actually wouldn't have been any use anyway since i bought lifetime pads for it.

Car will jerk forward then start driving normally Me thinks is beginning signs of transmission problem I've driven a car with a bad transmission and it felt the same way. Jerky ride Last time I had oil change teh foo said I needed a transmission fluid flush What you guys think? Should I get one. Was thinking instead of doing that I could get Lucas transmission fluid fix: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=202087_0_0_ Heard it works pretty good. Even takes cars with SHITTY transmissions and fixes them Not sure what route to take. What yall ngas think? |
