Rearranged trunk, cleaned MAF, replaced air filter, found out vatozone gave me wrong PCV, and seafoamed le CV. Feels like its running a bit smoother.

So I called Ford about getting a second chipped key. $28 for the key, $75 to program it. $103 for a fucking key!?
Was hoping I could program it myself but you need two existing chipped keys to program a new one... fuckin shit. I guess I can hide my chipped key in the dash and then use non-chipped but idk, don't like that idea. ---------- Post added at 03:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:18 PM ----------

i know and I've seen them at Ace and Home Depot but they cost more than $28 there. The expensive part is the damned programming, not the key itself.

A/C in doesn't work. Put in some well-reviewed stop leak and filled it with appropriate oil and refrigerant, it worked great all last summer...this summer it's dead again. I ought to find and repair the actual leak. I'm feeling lazy enough this year to just fill it up again but I can't find my A/C shit now.

Seems likely. Get a kit with a reusable hose and a gauge. You're really supposed to use two gauges but you can get it done well enough with one. This is the kit I got:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/EZ-Chill-A...t-Kit/16888792 My system is converted for R134a and that's what I used. The stop leak had UV dye but I didn't look for it since it seemed to be holding.

My AC freezes the fuck out of me. Even in the middle of summer right now I usually only need it on the second setting.
You probably just need a recharge, it is 15 years old, may not even have a leak.

ok it was converted did thay change all the seals and shit? cause if the just vaccumed it out and added 134 could be a issue. theres a additve for r12 to r134 or you can change the o rings and shit and pao valve needs to adjusted.
---------- Post added at 05:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:57 PM ---------- if its r134 sure you need the gauge and shit that goes on the can but its a pretty easy deal.

I received the car with a conversion compressor labeled for R134a and of course fitting adapters. I assume if they replaced the compressor then they likely did the other stuff too. That was probably done 15-20 years ago. Honestly if I didn't feel bad aboot le environment I wouldn't mind just recharging it yearly.
