Tools can get pretty heavy, but the rest should be fine. Full size spare should be aluminum rim with OEM size tire, won't way much more than donut, though probably unnecessary...how often do you explode a tire? Carry plug kit for punctures and donut for worse failures. Plugging is faster than changing to spare.
