How slow is surface pro to boot up?

I enjoyed the few minutes I played with It at BB. Felt real sturdy and fast. I would buy it if I had the cash for it even tho everyone seems to hate it because u can get a laptop for that.

store didn't have a nexus to play with. And didn't fiddle with the iPad since I can just play with an iPhone

Just looked it up and the Surface Pro boots in like 10 seconds. Not bad

From what I just saw:

Pros:

Fast and smooth performance.
Built Quality.
Great 1080p display.
Stylish design.
Ultrabook power with Core i5.

Cons:

Disappointing battery life
Big and heavy.
Poor camera quality.
Expensive

Honestly, they look nice but they aren't in the same category as an Android/Apple tablet. The Surface Pro is a laptop without a keyboard and it is nice if that is what you want and want to pay $700. You can get a nicer ultra portable laptop for less and you can get a nice Android tablet or iPad for less.

iOS and Android often take longer than that.

You wouldn't shut it down and boot it often, just sleep it the same way you do with any other mobile device.

Yeah, I just assumed being a Windows machine, it would take longer than that. 10 seconds for a boot or hibernation wake up is pretty nice.

It really does look like a nice device if you need to run allthethings that a computer runs and you don't mind spending $700.

ehh, think the battery would last me thorgh one of my longer days at school. when i lifted it, it felt sturdy at least, not sure how people need an ultralight tablet or whatever. and id never use a fuckin camera on a huge ass rectangle. but i mean, i would be happy with a nexus or some ipad mini. pero surface be on top of tablet want list

Its definitely a bamf tablet. You just need to weight what you want/need vs what you can/want to spend.

If you just want a browser, a few apps, and some touch games then you can get a nexus or iPad and save $. If you want to run Photoshop or something then pay $$$ and get the surface.

Nailz whores manga/anime/comics on his N7 I think. His is previous gen though. Newer one is more beast.

Had a student come in with a Toshiba. She let Windows Update install 8.1 and after that her video driver was fucked up. I eventually had to switch it to the "Windows Basic video adapter" driver or whatever it's called instead of the Microsoft or Toshiba-supplied specific driver. Also had to remove a bunch of crapware.

Anyway, that machine booted in a scant few seconds, probably under 10.
