You know, I forgot all aboot that. Venture's headphone jack doesn't activate for most aux hookups. Instead of the usual mechanically operated switch that detects when you plug something in, it detects electrically...and doesn't work with aux.

I bought an adapter on eBay that included a mic and had the appropriate impedance to activate the headphone jack, but its wire frayed after a few weeks. Actuallly hearing shit was nice, for a change.

My new phone should behave better. However, when plugged into aux, does the mic on the phone stay active? If not, will need mic adapter anyway.

pinche venture. The phone's normal mic stays active but it has always worked well for me. I have it sitting on my lap or passenger seat and my wife never has trouble hearing me unless the windows or down. an external mic would be nice to mount on the steering wheel or visor or something but I haven't had trouble using aux so far. CV isn't very loud inside though.
