Shop says the engine is trash. Mexichanic or I must have dropped something inside. I was really fucking careful but who knows.

They quoted me $4000 for a used 4.6L (95k miles) installed. Can't pay $4000 to fix a $4500 car even though I love the damned thing. All because of a small coolant leak.

Kinda fucked right now...

Buy an engine from LKQ if you have one. 500 for any engine.

Did anyone pull the heads or boroscope the cylinders.

Two shops have told me zero compression on a cylinder. One mexi place, one highly reviewed place.

Not sure about scope and probably didn't pull heads.

Cao, mine is running like dick, is most likely dead.

The engine is probably only $500, the rest is parts/labor. Going to look at getting a new car I guess. I want another CV/MGM because I love that big bastard and its not the cars fault we dropped something inside. That's a valid assumption since these motors go for 300k and this one has 60k...

I don't have the skills or know anyone who can rebuild the engine or swap one for me. Plus, last time I tried to do repairs I dropped something in there so fuck that.

Pretty sure engine swap is a lot less difficult than you think. Unplug allthethings, label them. Unbolt allthethings. Remove hood and maybe front clip. Lift engine. Drop it on someone's foot. Installation is reverse of removal.

Saw a 2001 MGM with 95k. Spotless inside and out, only 2 owners. $3000. Was gone by the time I went to call.

Most CVs around here are 200k mi and trashed. MGMs arent bad.
