Yep, until 96 they were like the CV. Beast sized rear wheel drive cars w/ v8s and frames and whatnot. Some polices used them. Then they stopped making them. A while later they released the modern impalas. They are front wheel drive, have v6s, are smaller, etc. Not many police departments picked them up except for detectives and shit I think.

Well, it was substantially a Caprice, but it was all awesomed up for the Impala SS.

Similarly, Ford brought out the Mercury Marauder.

actually the cv lx sport and impala are closer. the impala ss and caprice didnt have anything over each other in performance. same engine suspension ect as long as you got the lt1 and performance suspension.... was trim grill seats and wheels. this excludes the calloways and lingenfeltners but those are done by sub contract companies. the marauder had about 60 more hp than the stock gmq.
