Before this climate change, the Nordic countries were considerably warmer.[2]

In Denmark, Norway, Sweden and other Nordic countries, the term fimbulvinter is still used to refer to an unusually cold and harsh winter.[3]
Etymology[edit]

Fimbulvetr comes from Old Norse, meaning "awful, great winter". The prefix "fimbul" means "the great/big" so the correct interpretation of the word is "the great winter".[3]

Fuck. Just as I was typing this, a plow just went by. WTF? It hasn't snowed since this morning. Driveway's gonna have a nasty icy windrow at the end now.

Missed my best friends wedding yesterday because of the snow. My brother and I started on the way there and half way there it got so bad we couldn't see but like a foot in front of the truck lol.
