I don't really understand the issue either. It looks like fuel should pass through that easily. I think its a venting issue

That was my first assumption, but severity of the issue does vary with nozzle angle while filling...if it was a vent somewhere else that was the problem, I can't see how angling the nozzle different would let me fill faster. However, it's certainly possible that I'm full of shit on that.
Continuing to assume it's the manufacturer's fault since all reviewers had the same problem: Any thoughts on potential design/manufacturing defects that could cause venting failure? More importantly, any thoughts on what I can do about it when it's negative sixty billion degrees out and there's a trillion feet of snow? I need an easy, fast hack. I was thinking of running a hose down the filler neck and have it exit near the top of the neck. I could drill a hole at the top of the filler neck without asploding and without leaving shavings in the tank by stuffing oily rags down the filler neck (with strings tied on to pull them out). I'd cap the hose all the time and just un-cap it while filling.

put grease on your drill bit it will catch the shavings. if you move the nozzle certain way the trapped air is escaping i would think. your car has mech pump right?

Yes, mechanical pump.
Best way to fill is with the nozzle inserted 1.5 inches and aimed down (holding the handle end up). It makes me think that the filler neck tube is bent too sharply, which you can't see in the video. So if you think trapped air is escaping like that, I might could skip the tube and just drill the hole.

Know anything about Quadrajets?
At WOT it bogs really bad, like nosedive from complete cutoff of acceleration. Up to 90% throttle it's fine, but once I hit WOT it immediately quits accelerating, regardless of RPM. What the dilly yo?

It has always done it, or if not, it has done it for a very long time. I just never bothered asking about it.
Having posted, while I drove home from work I kept trying it. If I plant it and hold it at WOT, after a couple seconds it stops being TOTALLY dead and gives me acceleration similar to like 2% throttle.

I took an evap hose off of my canister yesterday, put my mouth to it (using my hand as a gasket), and blew threw it to if it was blocked. It felt about right. (With the gas cap removed it felt like blowing through a straw, which should be right for the evap vent through 20 feet of hose. With the gas cap on I could not blow through it.) That supports my guess that it's the filler neck, not the evap vent, at fault for my inability to fill properly.

How's this for feeding the bump?
Remember the S10 transmission donor? Still rotting in my yard. Been thinking I want to turn it into a trailer. Had the day off (morning optometrist checkup) and nice weather, so this afternoon... How's that for cow gone hillbilly? After the photo I got the passenger side control arms/etc off, down to bare frame on that side. I'm surprised how light it is at the front end. Bed (and junk in it) must be balancing well on the cantilevered rear. Even with the drivers side control arms/hub/rotor/caliper still on, it's easy for me to lift up by hand.

Not gonna cut it close to the bed, gonna keep it as long as I reasonably can, notch it so I can bend it in to a triangle, then add the hitch. I even have an extra one I can use, though investing in a nice triangle one with a built-in tongue jack would probably be a good idea.
RI now requires inspections of some sort to declare a trailer's construction roadworthy. I already have a grandfathered homebuilt trailer registration with GVWR 2000 LBS and length something like 20 feet, for my formerly-boat trailer (now half-finished project for convertible utility trailer). FIWDIL, just gonna switch the plate to whichever trailer I'm towing, nobody can call me on it unless a local yokel happens to remember seeing the S10 in my backyard from the road and wants to be a dick... ---------- Post added at 07:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:04 PM ---------- Also, pretty sure I'm gonna invest $100 in bags for , it needs help even when not towing. ---------- Post added at 07:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:07 PM ---------- Just got an idea...could use my shitty 4-down tow bar. It's a big ol' triangle already, and would be quick to bolt on. Ultra-hack to the rescue!

lol @ plate swap. They don't have VINs right? Might as well! By making it a triangle, you'll also have a little bit of space if you feel like mounting a small toolbox or something there in the future. You can keep various crap in there to keep it away from weather (if the trailer has the top off) or whatever.

I guess the newer inspection thing results in issuance of a VIN, but the grandfathered homebuilt trailer has no VIN and there's probably no VIN on anything left of the S10.
