I don't get it.

In other news, I think my alternator's failing. Considering that I got 190,000 miles out of it I think I'd like to buy an OEM one to replace it. Think it'll cost a lot more than aftermarket?

Normally I wouldn't even bother wondering about OEM stuff but FFS it lasted 190,000 miles.

if oem lasted u that long and gm hasnt changed its parts/providers...then u should expect to get a very similar life out of a replacement. idk if they have any warranty but for something like that, id like something with some warranty
