Introduction Speech Outline

Title of Speech: Getting acquainted with Linda Kohberger

Purpose of Speech: To introduce myself and tell the audience (class) about my past, present and future visions.

Introduction:

Attention Step: I am not a finished project! Are you? No, you are not. We are all on the journey of life and we are all works in progress. But perhaps, after 46 years, I can say that though I am still a work in progress, I am a halfway finished project with a whole lot of ups and downs and thrills to go.

Establish Need: For this class to be relaxed and more comfortable and even maybe fun, we should get to know each other a little better. We are all it together, so let’s get a little chummy.

Establish Credibility: Since I am the person that knows about me the best, I will be the one sharing and presenting the Linda Kohberger story.

Central Idea: My story entails a bit of my past, my present life and how I am planning for my future.

Body:
Transition: Let me begin by saying that I am happy to be here and to make acquaintance with all of you. I believe a good starting point into my story would be my past, so come along with me backwards in time.

F. Best experience ever- becoming a mother in March, 1992 to our son

Transition: My son is now 17 years old and that brings me to my present life.

B. Search/major thoughts about moving into my next phase of life
1. Considerations were nutrition, aerobics instructor, and physical
therapy assistant
2. Found my passion with animals
3. My Shih Tzu dog is certified as a therapy dog
C. College once again
1. Banana cookie story
2. Presently in my 3rd quarter
3. Finished with prerequisites
4. Will begin studies in the veterinary technician Program
D. Busy doing with life
1. Studies
2. Administrative work for Comfort Control
3. Making college visits for Richard

Transition: This finally brings me to my future life visions.

A. Finishing the veterinary technician program
B. Passing the national registration exam
C. Working as a RVT
D. Having Richard established on his initial course of life
E. Helping with administrative matters of Comfort Control
F. Doing all the things that I so enjoy


Transition: Life for each of us is a journey.

Summary: Thank you for listening to my brief story of my past, present and future visions of my life.
