I'd think with either 30 or 40lb mono you should be fine. I would prob run 40 if it was me.

i shark fish.....quite abit.

we can catch em on anything from 20 - 50 lb test no worries. i have rods spooled with all. your leader should be around the length of the fish you plan to catch. so 5' leader that size will be fine for a 5' shark.

sounds to me like your good. just use your drag and dont try to horse em in.
