Speaking of driveshafts, how do I remove a stubborn shaft? The one on the S10 responded to light prying with a screwdriver but the one on the Buick hasn't been disturbed for 30 years and won't come off. I even took to whacking the U-joint with a hammer as hard as I dared, no luck.

JayBo 06-22-2010 06:10 PM

the slip yoke in the buick must be siezed. have you tapped on it up closer to the tranny?

im assuming its an older RWD buick

Lazarus 06-22-2010 06:10 PM

pero no soundz when I'm watching pr0nz... :(

theholycow 06-22-2010 06:11 PM

Yep, it's my 1980 LeSabre.

I only tapped it at the rear U-joint, not anywhere near the front.
