We don't know what we're talking about anymore either. We're bored too.

2005_Silverado 04-06-2011 08:51 PM

gury, if u get V6 acura, get one with bamf V6 engine...the non-performance v6 is shit. was HUGE let down when we tested TL

stonehenge 04-06-2011 08:53 PM

V8 ftw :cheeky:

2005_Silverado 04-06-2011 08:53 PM

268hp 3.5L V6 with 25+mpg ftw :haha:

.GARY. 04-06-2011 08:54 PM

My preference is 4 banger to keep fuel costs down, I will consider a V6 if I have to but its not mandatory to have. Honestly the fuel consumption difference really is not that much different either. DNW another V8 though.

stonehenge 04-06-2011 08:56 PM

:hgh:

2005_Silverado 04-06-2011 08:56 PM

yeah, 4cyl might net 3-5mpg moar from v6, but performance will def be noticed. your main mpg savings gonna come from not driving a huge truck

.GARY. 04-06-2011 08:57 PM

:word:

Damn 87 is @ 3.79 agal now :nonobro:

2005_Silverado 04-06-2011 08:58 PM

 its 4.09 around here

stonehenge 04-06-2011 08:58 PM

:serio: and you haz to have a balance of different things

4cyl nizz and my v8 cv get almost the same mpg. They are 2-3mpg different. I think it comes from the fact that the nizz is weak/slow as shit so you have to floor it to accellerate, climb hills, etc. Where the cv doesn't need much gas to do everything.

so depending on your driving and shit, you may get almost the same mpg with a v6 as you would with a weak 4cyl

/pull stuff out of ass

black06 04-06-2011 09:00 PM

Found Scion TC TRD/Vortech supercharger on craigslist for $200......might buy and flip on eBay

.GARY. 04-06-2011 09:00 PM

Was ok w/ less than 18 mi. round trip a day. Looking at 50-60 mi. a day when I go back to school. That will add up very quickly.

I agree w/ you Juan. 4banger def has to rev higher to pass or do whatev more unlike a 6 or 8 which just helps it to lose that edge it has.

2005_Silverado 04-06-2011 09:02 PM

wife had 4 banger 98 altima...poor lil thing had to rev HIGH to pass on fwy :fp: fts...camry will pass fgts like nothing in 6th gear :datass:

CV probably has much more efficient gears and programming than Nizz. Nizz probably not as aerodynamic too...length helps reduce aerodynamic drag and CV probably has better aero qualities in general. It's a pretty slick shape.

If you do mostly highway miles, it's hard to beat the fuel economy of big GM/Ford cars without something radically tiny, hybrid, or otherwise extreme.

stonehenge 04-06-2011 09:05 PM

I mean my comparison is ratard because it's a 93 Nizz vs 01 Frod so completely different vehicles/motors/etc. But the 4cyls def don't like uphills, passing, accelerating quickly to merge, etc. CV be like "GFYS" as it passes fgts left n right. :datass:

Cao, please see last line of my nizz/cv comparison and first line of the above post. :cheeky:

black06 04-06-2011 09:06 PM

Cobalt SS w/blower, Also Saturn ION Redline supercharged(cheaper)....... or SRT4 would be my choices

Ion Redline has quad coupe doors, very useful for bangin the chunky chicks who drive them

theholycow 04-06-2011 09:07 PM

:gB: with the latest wideband-controlled fuel injection and everything that's broken repaired por favor.

stonehenge 04-06-2011 09:08 PM

paint, wheels/tires, rear door panels for CV and i be set

theholycow 04-06-2011 09:09 PM

I haz a tired. I can haz GTFO & go home?

.GARY. 04-06-2011 09:09 PM

All I know is cruising 60-70 on a 3 hr roadtrip coast to coast here in FL in wifes Altima 3.5 that sucker gets around 28+mpg, DFW

theholycow 04-06-2011 09:14 PM

60-70 cruising you'll get 28+ from a CV too...and you're driving a CV.

.GARY. 04-06-2011 09:14 PM

Never heard of a CV getting 28+ mpg
Then again I'm not that knowledgeable on those cars either

theholycow 04-06-2011 09:15 PM

On long highway trips that's not uncommon. The Altima will sure do better in city driving.

2005_Silverado 04-06-2011 09:16 PM

28+ might be on super flat, 0 traffic hwy, def not around here in my neck of the woods

stonehenge 04-06-2011 09:17 PM

I haven't taken le CV on any long trips but I expect to get around 22-26, I know thats a wide range but since I haven't tried it before I'm not THAT sure what I'll get.

I've been getting 18 or so in the city with LOTS of stop/go. That makes me very happy for a 4.6L RWD V8 :cheeky:

black06 04-06-2011 09:17 PM

5.0 gt vert got high 20's with cruise and using 5th with stock gears

.GARY. 04-06-2011 09:18 PM

I guess it would work, out in BFE flatland as Eddie said, hell IDK  Here its kind of highway ish, its back State Roads that run coast to coast through towns so its not exactly a straight shot @ 60+mph, it has alot of speed changes at random point due to town crossings.

theholycow 04-06-2011 09:20 PM

Flat wouldn't be necessary but steady speed would...that's why I was going off the "cruising 60-70 on a 3 hr roadtrip" thing.

2005_Silverado 04-06-2011 09:20 PM

yeah, i wouldnt expect 28mpg from cv in ur area gury...not even from a V6

theholycow 04-06-2011 09:21 PM
