Tips for a 8 hour drive in snow/sleet/ice anyone? I'll be sticking to major interstates, but I have to get through Sam's Gap in NC and La Follete in TN. From the 75 north to Lexington. I've driven in snow once and that was 2 weeks ago, but that was in the G6. My truck has never seen snow. :blah:

Great idea. One of us should get on that.

8 hours may turn into 12 hours, 16 hours, 24 hours, or more.

Tips:
- Put weight in the bed. Lots of it.
- Reduce speed.
- Increase following distance. A lot.
- Don't look directly in front of you just because you're going slow. Look far ahead.
- Smooth and reduce steering, throttle, brake inputs.
- Be ready to throw it in neutral if you start losing traction; RWD pickup is prone to getting sideways from traction loss exacerbated by power at the rear wheels or even slight engine braking at the rear wheels. Neutral is the only way NOT to exacerbate the situation.
- Don't expect your vehicle to do what you ask.
- Don't pass the salt/plow truck. The road in front of it sucks.

That's not everything, but it's what I can think of at the moment. I'm tired and I have to do my homework.
