I think I'll get a suction cup one with the lil disc. Put the disc on my conzole/dash and whenever I take the Nizz for a trip long enough to need the mount, I'll stick it to the window
The big suction cup that came with my Sirius mount was a tight fit jammed into my truck's ashtray. I'd jam it in and push the ashtray as closed as I could, the mount was in the perfect position and such.

I lost mine. Took it to Maui for my honeymoon. I'm pretty sure it rolled under the rental Trailblazer's seat but I never found it.

Cez★ 12-15-2009 06:46 PM

haiz

theholycow 12-15-2009 06:46 PM

Oh, and BTW, which handlebar mount did you have? I had the one that replaces the battery cover and it worked well for rough rocky/rooty trails.

stonehenge 12-15-2009 06:47 PM

gonna go rawk the gc. laters :bye:

it was a good unit...I had the blue one...forgot the model. Had it hardwired to the battery and to a sick mount I got for it. I rolled a couple times and it never broke off or anything. It somehow came off the mount and I think the tire yanked the cord cuz I still had some of it attached to the battery.

Those things are VERY handy out in the dez. A buddy lost his keys out there and I just backtracked using the gps, found his keys :pepper:

theholycow 12-15-2009 06:51 PM

Mine was the eTrex Venture, green sparkly one. It had upgraded memory, a serial cable, and IIRC a slightly better screen than the standard yellow one.

OIC. My mount was smaller and simpler. It had a battery cover that had a dovetail that slid into a mount directly on the handlebar. The entire eTrex was totally accessible.

thats the etrex brand one right? I had it, the battery cover has some sort of ring you twist to lock it IIRC...my bars had a bend where I had it mounted, so the face of the gps was facing to my right :roflmao: couldnt see the screen. I remember having to change out the rubber/foam insulators when I went to bigger 1" bars.

theholycow 12-15-2009 07:07 PM

Yep, that's the one.

I just remembered, the Venture also has a nipple input device like a Thinkpad.

2005_Silverado 12-15-2009 07:10 PM

yeah, mine had the lil nipple/joystick thing...pretty easy to use. I had speed and time/distance on my screen. Was kinda hard looking down while bouncing around on the atv doing 30-40mph :roflmao: I REALLY used it when we would ride at night. Cant tell you how many times we saw drug smugglers crossing the border through the desert. Even got held up by some mexican "cops" once. :uhoh:

Trend of fewer whites
expected to continue in
San Bernardino County

The number of white San Bernardino County
residents fell between 1990 and 2000 for the
first time since World War II, a trend experts
predict will continue in the soon-to-begin 2010
census.

"The white people are just being shoved out,"
said Don Sheets, 81, who came to San Bernardino
in 1936. "The minorities come in and then they
let the properties go to hell. When you live next
door to a blighted home, blighted lawns and so
on, you just give up. The next move is to leave."

"By 2015, Latinos will constitute a majority
population in the Inland Empire," according to
the report. "Latinos will be the new majority in
many of the most populated subregions as well,
including the Coachella Valley, Northwestern
Riverside (county), Western San Bernardino
(county), and Eastern San Bernardino (county)."
