I'm still trying to figure out why I can hear valves rattling with anything less than 93 octane. The timing is correct. Its getting enough fuel, but I can hear detonation on the same side that the sylinder that eats up plugs is on. Thats also the cylinder thats burning oil.
Run some seafoam through it and switch to a hotter plug. That cylinder has to be caked with oil deposits......that can raise the compression and cause it to knock. Not saying it is but it may. What plugs are you running?

Oh crap, plugs..that reminds me, Advance Auto was having a buy $100 get $50 off your next order and I was going to stock up for my truck's tune-up but I forgot and now the promo is over. DAMN! Missed it.

I want to replace my plugs with OEM-spec plugs. The manual says Denso PTJ14R15 / NGK PZTR5a15. Any comments?
