Counting calories isn't just for salad eating fad dieters, it can be for anyone who is concerned about their weight. In fact, even not concerned about weight, I count calories to know if a meal is going to leave me hungry prematurely. I hate eating what I thought was a full meal, then two hours later I'm hungry, so I look and it was like 400 calories.
People not doing fad dieting, just trying to control their weight while still eating conveniently and tastefully, can use the calorie counts on fast food. Back when I was losing weight I didn't avoid fast food...I just had to look up the calories online and know what I would order.
Also, I assume ingredients will be posted; that's necessary for people with food allergies. My wife will be in huge trouble if she eats even a trace of mushroom, seafood, or fish, and you never know when they're going to sneak anchovies or mushrooms into stuff like steak sauce.
