I just hope the LTE works well. All the current 4G devices drop signal and take shits all the time. The Nexus is a lot thinner than all of them though, I think it may have a different type of LTE hardware in it. Who knows though.

billnewl 10-14-2011 04:24 PM

Just asked a sales rep at a local vzw based store about that. He has the charge and said he hasn't had any issues with it.

Anyone here ever work at a cell phone store?

stonehenge 10-14-2011 04:41 PM

I've heard people having problems on all the LTE phones but the TB seems to be the worst. (sorry yaybo :emo:)

Chris. on gmfs has worked at like 3 different carriers :roflmao: i know AT&T and VZW for sure. Maybe Sprint also, don't remember though.

The specs looks pretty damn nice and I love Moto's build quality.

Nexus will have moar hi-res though.

I don't know if any of you are on the latest MIUI for the DX but it has a BAMF Boot Menu. When you reboot, a blue LED comes on while the "M" is still displaying. If you hit volume down when that LED comes on, it will pop you straight into the boot menu which you can use to get into recovery (stock or CWR) and once they tweak it a little more, you'll be able to use it to over/unclock and boot multiple roms.

The fact that it pops up while the M is still on makes me think it will help when getting into a bootloop situation. Without a real recovery, that would usually mean an SBF is needed but I'm thinking this boot menu would give us the chance to go in and restore a backup or reflash a rom.

stonehenge 10-14-2011 08:40 PM

If I told you that the Galaxy nexus is not the only one... Just the samsung one.. How you love that moto, HTC fans?? #justsaying - blackmanx

What is this supposed to mean? :hmm:

stonehenge 10-14-2011 10:40 PM

oh that son of a bitch, he is almost always right

:ffuuu:

well i have until March to see what happens. :cheeky:

billnewl 10-14-2011 10:47 PM

Now I have to make a decision? I am horrible at decisions, ffuuu.

---------- Post added at 05:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:43 PM ----------

Screw March, I will wait til the end of January at the latest, as I will get my large bonus of $30 then. :jester:

stonehenge 10-14-2011 10:50 PM

oh is that what the extra bonus is for waiting a little longer? I think my wife gets that at the end of this month.

billnewl 10-14-2011 10:56 PM

Meaning that those that do not prefer Sammy hardware will not have long to wait for ICS hardware from other partners.. - blackmanx

---------- Post added at 05:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:55 PM ----------

Yes, it's only $30 now... fgt vzw

stonehenge 10-14-2011 11:02 PM

Just because Moto/HTC/etc will be releasing ICS a little while later doesn't mean it will be vanilla and unlockable. It will be covered with blur/sense/etc and have a locked bootloader and shit.

:blah:

---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:01 PM ----------

BUT it would be awesome to be wrong and see everyone release a stock device. If Moto releases a stock android device on VZW, it will be hard to pass up.

billnewl 10-14-2011 11:07 PM

Yep, I'm still getting le Sexus.

---------- Post added at 06:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:04 PM ----------

appextractor can pull apps, sms and mms from nandroid backups. Its like rom manager had a baby with titanium backup

If that RAZR came with stock ICS and some how that SAMOLED Pentile display actually looked half-way decent, that may be a viable option.

race2c 10-14-2011 11:18 PM

I like the looks of that RAZR :imo, assuming that those pictures are true.

billnewl 10-14-2011 11:32 PM

All I can say is this... Sammy will not be the only ics stock device by year end.. #fridaybombdroppin #pandanation #sneakypanda

FFuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

race2c 10-14-2011 11:38 PM

I be happeh with DX...may wait for RAZR...:hmm:

stonehenge 10-14-2011 11:56 PM

Now that is an interesting tweet :imo DFW stock ICS.

And as for the RAZR, it is NOT Pentile :read:

SarkOzy 10-15-2011 12:09 AM

Gfs dad returned his tbolt for a bionic. The screen looks worse than the one on the DX.

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

stonehenge 10-15-2011 12:19 AM

Yep, the DX and previous don't have pentile screens. They have sharp screens. Not as vivid as Sammys but more crisp, I like them. The pentiles looks all pixelly even with their higher resolution. :blah:

But the RAZR isn't pentile, its AMOLED.

billnewl 10-15-2011 12:35 AM

I forgot which site I was reading, but it said it was a AMOLED with different Pentile technology.

---------- Post added at 07:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:33 PM ----------

It's a SAMOLED display tho... I may have to keep an eye on that one too

stonehenge 10-15-2011 12:37 AM

The site that said it was SAMOLED also said 2.3.5 w/ Blue Blur tho so :wank:

FapBox is full of BB/iPhgts

billnewl 10-15-2011 12:40 AM

Oh, fork if I know. I haven't kept up with that device. I have been trying to keep my eye out for Nexus news.

VmaxEngage 10-15-2011 01:09 AM

so MIUI is teh shits now?

Still need to get off old ass apex :fp:
