Not really. Might not want to hear it, but those things happen all the time. Not necessarily to that extent, but I recall when I worked for powers aviation there would be at least 1 commercial jet in the Delta shed every month getting repaired from a skin separation.

I only like skin separations when i be separating dem sheeks in preparation for clappage :imo

Chris, I find it disconcerting that the seperation was large enough to see out of and drasting enough to drop from 36,000 ft. to 11,000 ft in a very brief amount of time and also big enough for oxygen depletion and masks being deployed. That is just me though .

Dat PB&J :uhoh:

Yea, that was definitely way out of the norm. The drop is altitude was just procedure though. It's not critical that the plane descend to a lower altitude in the event of cabin pressurization failure, it's just done for passenger/crew comfort and in that case preparation for landing. Don't get me wrong, what happened was a BIG freaking deal at the time, but luckily everyone kept their heads screwed on straight and it turned out fine.

.GARY. 04-06-2011 04:59 PM

I understand the descent, just the size of the hole bugs me is all :roflshrug:

May take a look at this gai and try to work a deal, opinions?
