*confused about stupid us savings bonds*

JayBo 01-29-2010 09:50 PM

I want monies! rofl.

So much for my lift.....

theholycow 01-29-2010 09:51 PM

Actually, it won't affect my refund amount. 1099C is cancellation of debt, and you don't have to pay tax on it if you're broke. Last year Jackson Hewitt did my taxes and showed me how that's done (had a 1099C last year too).

Either way I know I still need to file it, whether or not I pay tax on it.

2005_Silverado 01-29-2010 09:51 PM

wan...should get 1099

JayBo 01-29-2010 09:51 PM

im going to wash my truck. FUJUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

theholycow 01-29-2010 09:52 PM

So I ran my Slacker's battery dry, and I forgot to charge it all day. Now I'm charging it and I'll be leaving in 50 minutes.
:ffuuu:

Meh, I guess 50 minutes of charging out to suffice for 50 minutes (my commute) of listening.

2005_Silverado 01-29-2010 09:52 PM

aww shit *****...thought it was taxable :pepper:

theholycow 01-29-2010 09:53 PM

It is taxable, unless you're broke.

I can't imagine who would have a 1099C who's not broke.

Hmm theres a box "Amount of Interest on U.S. Savings Bonds and Treasury obligations that you want subtracted from your state return: ", what should I put in there? That isn't the same as the interest on the bonds right?

2005_Silverado 01-29-2010 10:08 PM
