i know what you mean ive been to ky twice and its beautiful out there

I'm just going to start flying into Louisville and having Les or one of her friends pick me up. Like an hour and a half from their house. It's such a pita going from sea level over the continental divide, then through all those mountains. It's not bad mileage wise, just slow with traffic and mountain roads. Hell it's marginally cheaper to fly anyway. Total time from Myrtle Beach to Louisville is like 3.5 hours and that includes changing planes in Charlotte.
not bad i rode a bus both times it sucked 12hrs both ways
Damn. If I were to hit no traffic I should in theory be able to make it in less than 7 hours. But it ends up taking 8-9 since I have to stop once for gas. On a good day though you can really make some time through the mountains on I40. Speed limit 55 my ass :rofljest:
haha who needs speed limits anyway
 Though SC and KY you have to maintain within 5 to be safe. Not really anywhere for the law to hide on 26 and 40 through NC, and TN is good aside from Knoxville.
i always go 5 over or if im on a big road ill go with the flow of traffic they cant pull us all over lol
I keep my k-band/lidar detectors on at all times. Not that I really speed, just like to know who if anyone is watching me.
i dont have any detectors
i dont have any detectors

I'm really glad the flights are cheap and short to there. I'd need a 4wd to even think about going over the mountains with winter coming up. Both routes (26/40 and 77/64) are closed every so often due to blizzards and shit. There is crazy weather that high up.
yea dont want to take any risks driving those mountain roads
Yea the weather is dramatically different up there. Hell there are a few places well over 6000' that have roads. The interstates are usually kept open until the plows can't keep up I've been told. But from December through March this is a common occurance.
