I went and look yesterday.

I want to keep my same phone #, move it out of the inlaws name under my parents and get on their family share plan.

How the crap would that work out? I know about the swapping from one name to another, but I dont wanna pay SIX HUNDRED BILLION dollars

Piece of cake. I kept my company phone number when I quit working for my dad and got my own phone on another carrier. One signature from dad was all I needed.

Oh I know that part will be easy, I just don't want to have to pay full price for the droid b/c I just upgraded 2 months ago.
I'd have to start a new plan for it, then swap it over to my existing #, put my old samsung on the new phone # and take data plan off it right?

That's what I did, the guys at the VZW store should know how to do it. The idea was actually given to me by a *611 rep lol

What they do is they start a new line with the Droid on it. Then they move the Droid to your number and whatever phone you want to the new line (dumbphone). Then they put the smartphone plan on your line and the regular 9.99 for the new line. Like buttah

Don't try and do it all step by step by yourself, just tell them right away what your plan is and they'll do it all in one step.

Yeah thats kinda how I saw it. I pay for my phone slowly over the next couple years and I have an extra if I don't want to take my Droid somewhere shady or need to call from a :secret: number, take it on vacation and leave it turned off in the car/hotel in case something happens to my phone, whatever. Won't hurt to have it.
