So I have some verified answers on the parts I was asking to identify.

you almost cant go wrong with a lincoln or a miller what are your plans for it I haven't looked it up one thing to watch for is Duty Cycle a low duty cycle will not weld long without stoping

I don't know anything about welding. All I know is that I sometimes have odd welding jobs I need to do.

Examples:
- Repair a broken trailer tongue, a shovel, etc
- Fabrication I might have to do for converting my Buick to manual transmission
- Build a hanging step for my camper
- Weld safety chains onto trailer tongue

I don't care how my welds look. I do care that I can weld steel, aluminum, and maybe stainless.

well it will do all the above except aluminum and mabe stainless unless you are able to get the proper rod now that I think about it with the correct rod aluminium could be a possibility i know when we weld aluminium at work we have a special mig welder with different wire and gas

Allum. and Stainless you'll have to have a TIG welder. You can buy welding rods to do Allumn, but it doesn't turn out well at all. I've tried them before.
