Lots of people waste their money on modifications that just make them feel better about their power, rather than truly producing power.

Why wouldn't GM's world-class engineers be able to calculate something as simple as exhaust flow? It's not like exhaust is a new technology. It's one of the oldest, most mature technologies in modern vehicles. There are no compromises that need to be made; an economically-made, quiet, durable system can easily be made to flow everything that the stock engine can throw at it.

There is no reason why the engineers would leave 10hp on the table when they could free it up at no cost and sell that many more trucks.

Go tell all the people that have put long tubes on their truck that they wasted their money.

Cez★ 03-29-2010 04:20 PM

matt (coop on gmfs) and i will race wednesday night. i know his 6.0 will kill me over a full .250 mile, but im really interested to see how much of a discrepancy there is from launch until the 600' mark down the track. we weigh about the same but i have more torque at lower rpm. with the same first gear and axle ratio it's a damn good comparison. :imo

wont hurt anything to leave them, but id pull them. fyi you dont have to remove the heads on an LS block to swap the cam. captured lifters FTW

The offset is the distance from the hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. If that makes sense?

Positive it will sit more like a front wheel drive car. Negative is will have more of a "deep dish"

the thing is that i heard that once you pull the heads you need new head bolts to put on which makes me :blah: about buying some new ones.

meh i didnt replace mine lol. what happens in the bolts stretch when torqued, and if you torque them again the reading can be off. i just said :fiwdil:

head bolts(or if you're replacing them use studs) are cheap btw

stonehenge 03-29-2010 04:30 PM
