Why is chris such a negative nacy?

How do I amaze you? Am I wrong that it made his exhaust sound better?

I guess opening up exhaust flow doesn't allow for more horsepower or sound. We are just dumbasses James.

ALL HAIL CHRIS, he knows EVERYTHING

SarkOzy 03-29-2010 03:45 PM

:roflmao: chadler have you seen bench tests on how much less restrictive long tube headers are versus the STOCK headers all genIII engines come with? we aren't talking the old cast iron exhaust manifolds of previous engines that were restrictive as hell. but then again im just basing my argument off facts, not sensory perceptions.

I will agree shorty headers vs manifolds are the same... but long tubes you have more velocity thus increasing throttle response and HP..

On a stock engine long headers are worthless. On a high revving engine that moves enough air though, they're worth their weight in gold. Short length tubes are widely known to increase torque in the lower rpm-ranges which is exactly where LS engines need it most. Unless you're building something to turn ridiculous rpm or using forced induction, the stock parts are the most cost-effective to use bar none.

here ya go chris I got you a cookie.

http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strol...hip_cookie.jpg

its the biggest one I could find. I hope you feel better now.

I'm not sure what the fuck you are considiering stock. Obvisiouly I don't have a truck thats putting 500rwhp but you have to take baby steps to get any where. Long tubes can only help in the long run, so for when I do decide to put a cam in the truck, the headers will help but for now I'm just going to waste my money (as you call it) and put long tubes on a "stock" truck. Not sure why you're talking shit.

Those are trailblazer replicas, yes without the adapters I know they will not fit. That is the drawback for me ordering these they won't be available until June...

Because I can and I know how to ruffle your feathers.

Take your $600 to spend on headers and buy a cam, springs and rocker arms, get a retune and higher stall torque converter if you want to go fast. Then buy headers and gain your 10rwhp.

You're not going to see the best of number with stock manifolds. :slap: That cam is going to need room to breath and with stock manifolds it will be chocked down.

Go tell all the people that have put long tubes on their truck that they wasted their money.

SarkOzy 03-29-2010 04:15 PM

 i remember when robbie had spacers on his wheels and crew cab. he had to bring a torque wrench to the meat with him to make sure they were tight. :uhohkittah:
