So it's more common on imports, and I may never have seen it because I've mostly only looked at domestics?

All Chrysler Hemi's are like that. And they have 16 fucking plugs too. :wtf:

oh hai btw. tomorrow be my birthday and i think teh peps at work are planning a surprise. :hmm:

a CASE of dexVI is $89 at O'Reilly. :blah: gotta have teh shit though. gonna grab a bucket and do the pump out/fill/flush method on the trans. as many times as ive had it out of the truck im too lazy to drop the pan this time. :roflmao: plus if i pull the pan most likely the valve body is coming off so i can re-install the 2-3 shift accumulator. i dont need another weekend project before i put another 2000+ mile trip on it.

Trevor F 03-04-2010 02:10 PM

SarkOzy 03-04-2010 02:12 PM

SarkOzy 03-04-2010 02:15 PM

Trevor F 03-04-2010 02:18 PM

lol you happen to know about how many miles an engine may have if the cylinders still show cross hatching?

SarkOzy 03-04-2010 02:20 PM

 there is no way to know. if it's been properly maintained i've seen a 3.8 out of my mom's alero that looked brand new in the cylinder bores at 110K.......too bad the cam decided it was better off in two pieces.

Trevor F 03-04-2010 02:21 PM

well i found a 6.0 for 1000 with low miles and he says you can still see the cross hatching.

trying to get more info on it today though.

SarkOzy 03-04-2010 02:22 PM

kinda high for a used engine. iron block or aluminum?

Trevor F 03-04-2010 02:25 PM

iron. its a lq4 from a truck. thats the lowest ive found and ive been searching for months. Its actually 750 but 1000 shipped to me.

Everything else around here is 1300-1900 with either 80k or 180k on it lol

SarkOzy 03-04-2010 02:27 PM

lol how far away are you looking? i know several guys who got theirs for way less than $1K around here in SC

Trevor F 03-04-2010 02:30 PM

i looked within 250 miles of me im willing to travel.
i used car part.com and lkq.

---------- Post added at 08:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 AM ----------

know the name of any places in sc?

SarkOzy 03-04-2010 02:33 PM

You should ask around the grapevine and local shops, or find a vehicle wholesaler who deals with late model cars/trucks. The good deals on the internet are few and far between because they get snapped up so fast.

How can you be all crawkz and nsync one day then transmissions and camshafts the next day? It doesn't add up!

How's DexVI price at WalMart?
