I use a weight distributing hitch. Pretty cool, it does its job well. Handles fine without it but my truck is more level with it and I don't have to worry about being blamed if something goes wrong.

Google provides this pic, which is decent:
http://www.hitchingup.com/images/wei...stribution.gif

It pushes down the front of the truck through the truck's frame, taking some of the weight off the rear wheels and some of the weight off the trailer wheels. It's pretty neato.

Oh man, this nice weather and this trailer talk is making me want to drag my camper somewhere, it's been like 3 years now.

SarkOzy 05-04-2010 07:37 PM

Yeah, my truck barely settles at all and levels out rather than going cali. I get my rake back with the WDH. Mainly, though, the important part is axle weights...I'll look for my scale slips if I remember.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – A Sugar Land teen was killed over the weekend while traveling in Nuevo Laredo, according to the Fort Bend County ISD.

Elisabeth Mandala, 18, was a senior at Kempner High School.

A Mexican newspaper reports Mandala and two men were beaten to death near the town of Mina. Their bodies were found Saturday morning inside a Dodge Dakota pickup that had crashed into the back of a larger truck.

Investigators believe the victims had been killed at least 10 hours before the crash, and the wreck was staged to hide the real cause of death, according to the newspaper Milenio.

Police said the two men had several forms of fake IDs.

"This news has saddened our staff and our student body, and our hearts and prayers go out to the family," said Kempner Principal Troy Mooney said in a letter sent home to parents Monday.

Grief counselors were at Kempner Tuesday for students and staff who needed to talk.
