I think you should remove text from the icons

How?

install go launcher, launcher pro, adw. They have option to remove text and also have option for only 1 home screen since thats all your using now.

LGB and yeah if you want to remove the other screens, remove text, etc you need a home replacement from the market. All the ones chevyrado mentioned are good imo.

BTW does that rom come with Theme Manager? It will be in your app drawer.
