ours are prorated too but even if you cancel it like one month before its still like $75 or so

so what happens with me Pre once I cancel? I keep or return? If I can sell for $100 then its worth it :imo:

You keep it. That's what the ETF is for, to help them recover the price of the phone. Retail is $500+ on a lot of these phones and you get them for $100-200 since they will make the rest via your plan. When you cancel they don't get the rest of the money for the hardware so the ETF is there.
