its completely different than punching in the #s into a business calculator and having it spit out the answer thc...if ur at a car dealer or closing on a loan at escrow company and u want to check the math on their calculations...ur not gonna bust out old schoo tables or ur laptop to look for it...you punch in:

N: Number of payments
PV: Loan amount
Int: Rate
FV: Value of loan at maturity
and press PMT: that gives you the monthly payment

Fuck doing the math by hand if a pocket sized gizmo can do it for me

Jah, my point was that you don't learn anything more useful using a lookup table instead of a calculator. You only learn something useful if you calculate the data by using the formula behind it.

yeah :shake:, u need to know the formula regardless of what u use to calculate it. The example I used is very simple, but once you get into present value of cash flows (Bonds and annuities) shit gets complicated and involves multiple tables. Using calc just makes it way easier/faster.
