Would diesel work as well as kerosene for cleaning the carb?

I can't remember the last time I handled kerosene but diesel's big problem is you'll never get rid of the stank.

stonehenge 07-01-2010 08:01 PM

i thought that shit was just used for OG lamps and shit if you didn't haz electricity

fuckin prolly wear racoon hats and deer fur jackets and shit to keep warm wtf

theholycow 07-01-2010 08:02 PM

Kerosene is used for portable heaters, people who don't care about the law and prefer sulfur in their diesel, and as a cleaning liquid.

that's the way it is here. LOTS of peps still use kerosene heaters in winter to take the chill out of a room, etc. cheaper than using the heat strips in an hvac system. it doesnt get cold here very often so we dont have the infrastructure of gas lines, etc for home heating like up north

theholycow 07-01-2010 08:08 PM

Quote:

Kerosene is widely used to power jet-engined aircraft (jet fuel) and some rockets, but is also commonly used as a heating fuel and for fire toys such as poi.

Today kerosene is mainly used in fuel for jet engines (more technically Avtur, Jet A, Jet A-1, Jet B, JP-4, JP-5, JP-7 or JP-8). One form of the fuel known as RP-1 is burned with liquid oxygen as rocket fuel.

Ultra-low sulfur kerosene is a custom-blended fuel used by the New York City Transit to power its bus fleet.
I forgot, it's used as cooking fuel for camp stoves.

.GARY. 07-01-2010 08:09 PM

No one carries Kerosene at the pump here in Fl near me. Then again I'm mid/south Fl so that is probably why.

Fawk afternoon is dragging ass :blah:

2005_Silverado 07-01-2010 08:11 PM

only kerosene fueled equipment Ive seen are those big space heaters used by shops and shit

SarkOzy 07-01-2010 08:11 PM

iirc pops has a BAMF heater that can run off diesel or kerosene in his shop. never seen it used though.
