How do you get such good pictures with what appears to be long shutter speeds, the car perfectly sharp and the road/grass speed-blurred?

Lazarus 07-01-2010 03:32 PM

I got a pic. I knew I've been saving it on my phone for something...

The Miata shot was with my phone (MT3G w/ Android). More or less, the camera on it just rocks, and the lighting happened to be perfect...

With shots like below, its all camera settings. That was w/ the 30D (or 40D before I sold it, can't remember). I adjust to a smaller aperture, which causes the shutter speed to drop. I try to hit something around F/5.6-F/10 ~ 1/30-1/60 (even 1/15 sometimes) ~ ISO 100... I am pretty good at holding steady shots @ 1/15+, no IS, so I adjust depending on speed. At 70mph, I can get away with F8 ~ 1/30'ish ~ ISO100 to pull a crisp vehicle and motion blurred background... :)

Saw this at Auto Zone, he was charging up the AC...The custom wing is fabricated of two small road cones, a 1x6 with routers edges and a bunchof electrical tape.

theholycow 07-08-2010 12:59 AM

Probably not FedEx-approved, but I'd FIDIL.

I spent a few minute outside getting the speedometer gear from my TH350 and I was soaked with sweat. Now the A/C isn't working fast enough and I'm thinking of taking a cold shower.

Need to put stacks on Nizz.

Korkah, that be the exhaust pipe coming up through the bed instead of all the way back to behind the rear wheel.

That's from a tractor? I though it was a stovepipe with a homemade flapper.
