Comments say that Tacomas have horrible shit frames that rust and fall apart regularly. Toyota was buying lots of them back for 1.5x KBB lol

Yup. Toyota keeps doing buybacks and recalls and keeps making shit to fail. Seems to work out well, people laud them for it instead of noticing that it's been a continued habit.

They also did the same shit with ball joints that failed catastrophically at speed. Even after issuing recalls for it they kept making it the same way and then issuing more recalls. My dad had a wheel break off at the ball joint and fold under his Tundra while he was driving, luckily it didn't roll under or happen at highway speed.

FWIW, my dad's 2002 Tundra (with something like 350,000 miles) has held up pretty well as far as frame rust is concerned. The spare tire winch rusted and lost his spare. Toyota didn't buy back his truck but they gave him a brand new spare tire and wheel, and removed the body from the frame to treat the fame with what looks like thick POR15.

...and that's the only time you'll see me defend that piece of crap.
