My jumbo lapg bailout can fit that laptop, but cuts it close. Anything above that may have a hard time carrying it.

As previously stated though, iirc, you have a different bag for that. In terms of backpacks I really enjoy my 5.11 rush 24 that I traded my maxpedition condor II for.

Big 17 inch laptops are really just a desktop that you can haul to your destination and set up on a desk...it's not really appropriate for using portably.

My asus is a 17 inch laptop and it has a nice thin profile, low weight, and a 9 cell battery.

Easily portable.

I deal in students' 17 inch laptops every day. I've handled a large variety of them. Even the thinnest, lightest ones are awkward and inconvenient except if you set it up on a decently sized desk in place of a desktop.

They're perfect for college students who live on campus and want to tote their desktop computer between home and school, but just too awkward for most people to use comfortably on an airplane / in the truck / etc.

I ran those on my ZR2 Blazer and they were great. I got almost 50K out of them.

I have a 15" now and it fits just fine in the bag I have, I should be ok w/ another that size or one slightly larger.
I also want the larger screen because it is easier for me to see as well, yeah go ahead make the old skeeze jokes if you like but Diabetes isnt being to kind to my vision at this point unfortunately

It will be used more or less @ home, @ school and @ libraries/study times while out. Airplane/car use well, that will prob be minimal to none.

gotta be up at 4am tomorrow to go pick up laura, then head to the mountains. im taking my ALICE pack since it's lighter than my larger backpack. it isn't very comfortable though. :/
