Yeah I've tried a few of the apps. Some are shit, some work well but I forgot which one was decent.

This one is built into the stock camera on newer Sammy devices and it works pretty well. You record a few seconds and then "paint" the areas that you want to animate or freeze. It plays the gif as you're painting so you can see a live preview of how it will look. Then you can decide if it loops forward, backwards, or back and forth. Simple without many options but does it's job.

need to find more stuffs to make gifs out of
