So..
On s3 what would make the phonr incredibly slow. Like for example pressing in a text box to type and tskes 10+ seconds for keyboard to appear. This even happens after a battery pull. Ive checked everything I know to . check. Im on the verge of rooting it anf flashing a bare minimum rom or titanium to disable stuff. Individually to see what it is. Anything specific I should check first? Sent from my SCH-I545

Clear cache. Phone off, hold vol up, home, and power to get into recovery, wipe cache partition.
Too many texts? Try deleting unneeded text threads or all of them. Sometimes they can cause shit. Try a memory app. Not one that auto kills or anything but just to see if there's an app whoring up all your RAM.

Hopefully it doesn't have shitty parts like previous Nexus devices. Otherwise better off getting G2 or something.

we'll see, I'm not moving to TMo until I test it with Cez's phone and our VZW expires in february. So far I'm thinking S4/Note3/Nexus3/G2 are the nicest phones. Would love to try an Oppo but dnw to pay retail.

I mostly just use it to talk to my wife and brother. Occasionally someone random (le bailey selling me a case for example).
But I like the UI so integrating SMS should be nice.

We don't use the video chat, just the text. We used to use GTalk all the time and Hangouts replaced it. Which is fine, I like the UI, the smilies/emojis, etc.

Hell yeah. Google Voice is pretty cool. My texts come to any/all cell phones, email addresses, tablets without cell service using wifi, and browser if I have the Google Voice page open. Calls come to any/all cell and landline phones, tablets without cell service using wifi, and browser if I have gmail open. I can send texts and make calls using the same list of devices, too. Plus I can enable call screening for certain contacts or groups.
---------- Post added at 09:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:18 AM ---------- Also, you can text via your PC without Google Voice by using email-SMS gateways. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways

Yup. As coa mentioned. You can d/l a Chrome Extension for Google Voice to display notifications for text and missed calls. You can setup your PC to ring if you are getting an incoming call and answer via the PC/Chrome Browser.
When I get to work I just type in voice.google and it comes up my page/number. As mentioned, you can push it to any tablet or device. One other neat thing is I can call from Gmail by just clicking a number. I hardly use my office phone anymore for calls. I can initiate a call all from my Chrome browser. |
