Beer
If you've ever read one of my posts in a beer thread, you know I have a very specific yet generic taste in beer. I don't want snobby beer. I don't want trashy beer. I don't want fruity gay beer. I don't want light beer and I don't want heavy beer. I don't want beer that's work to drink, and I don't want piss water beer. I want consistent, pleasant, easy to drink, tastes kinda like bread, basic beer. I want beer beer.
Those beers include: Miller Genuine Draft (not Lite), Michelob (not Ultra, not Light), Labatt's Blue, and Warsteiner (among others). Well, add a new one: Molson Golden. It's almost exactly the workingman's beer that I wanted. I'm glad I bought it and I'll but it again, especially since the local store only has a few of my ~15 favorites (and those few are the ones I need to be specifically in the mood for). Michelob Ultra, Miller High Life, and Corona are pleasant beverages and available everywhere but I usually want something just slightly heavier. A few others I like: Moosehead, almost any brand of amber bock, Tecate, Tsing Tao, Amstel Light, Heinekein. Stella Artois is ok sometimes. I don't like Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light, and Miller Lite but I drink them when presented with one. I absolutely hate every Sam Adams product I've ever tasted, it's got some aftertaste that I can't stand.

So, I posted another thread ranting about beer, completely forgetting that I had previously posted this one. On that day, I bought Michelob original lager, Michelob honey lager, and Smithwicks Irish Ale (by Guinness). Well, my wife bought the Smithwicks, I had no interest in it.
The Michelob original lager was exactly the sort of beer I like. The Michelob honey lager...not a great beer for just drinking. The honey isn't overpowering but it's a bit much if you're not eating something. It would go great with homemade wheat bread. The Smithwicks was a surprise. As expected, the wife didn't like it. She doesn't like beer. She bought it because it was around St. Patricks Day and she wanted to do something Irish. Surprisingly, it's not very ale-ish. It's a hint of ale flavor in what tastes like lager. I can drink it...not my first choice but not a big turn-off. ---------- Post added at 05:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:48 PM ---------- Oh, and I really wish I had bought some amber bock...well, next time.

Cao be picky beer nomer.
I tend to like the beer you are talking about with dinner or a cigar or when just chillin. When it comes to being out in the heat all day and wanting a cold beer to cool off I lean more towards the light stuff. Same if I want to drink a few beers for some reason (I'm not much of a drinker so I rarely plan to drink several beers), light is where it's at. That said there aren't many beers that I REALLY like. Some of my favorites that I've tried are (in no particular order): Stella Artois, Dos Equis, Dos Equis Amber, Corona, Corona Light, Michelob Ultra, Tecate (on draft = zomg), Tecate Light, and ummm for some reason I occassionally want an Old English or Steel Reserve LOL

Wan, your list is good. I don't like Stella Artois except with food, though.

Yeah it has a kinda... skunky taste to it thats the only way I can describe it. It definitely needs some beefy-type nomz to go with it.
