using off on the headlights wont fix anything. the yellow haze will just come back the first time they get wet.

100% DEET (which you can buy) will melt plastic. Used carefully it probably would do a good job, and the haze shouldn't come back any worse than if you use a store-bought polishing kit or toothpaste/Brasso/etc.

whenever I get around to the headlights, I'm not gonna polish them. I've done it with Plast-X, I've done it with a "headlight kit", it never looked 100% to me.
I'll just buy a set off of ebay or something and clear coat them with something that has a decent UV rating (or however they rate it's sun blockingness) before I put them on.

i use 1500 and 2000 grit sand paper....then spread some paint polish n polish with lil 3" pad on my drill....works good.

My truck has a loose headlight. I leaned on it and broke a plastic mounting tab.
 Teenage me had an old Cadillac with a wobbly headlight. I stuffed rags behind it through the gap until it couldn't wobble anymore. Creative problem solver.
