Yeah, the MAV guy last night got lucky with me, I barely missed shooting him down and then he roadkilled me while I was reloading...I was pissed. He was still pretty good at flying it, I'll give him credit for that.

The guy in my squad last night sent me a message and he said "dude, what the fuck with all the frag rounds", I said "I know, right". It was ridiculous, worse than I've ever seen it. The frag rounds are overpowered a bit IMO, they do regular damage + splash damage from the explosions, Dice said that wasn't supposed to happen and it was resulting in one hit kills from that shit. Frag rounds are supposed to be used for suppression, not one hit kills anyway.

Pair frag rounds with metro and bazaar and it's ridiculous trying to play them when fags are using that shit.

BF3 – IRNV to be Tweaked Further, More on PS3 Input Lag, AA Buff to be Removed

Alan Kertz, Senior Gameplay designer at DICE give us some more insight into the balancing act that goes into developing a game like Battlefield 3.

Talk of the IRNV scope is quite popular these days, with the community being seemingly undecided on whether it’s been nerfed too hard, or not enough. Two videos have been making rounds lately, one demonstrating the uselessness of the IRNV while in the tunnels of Operation Métro, while the other demonstrates a much more reasonable usability on the Canals. Kertz recently took to reddit where he had this to say regarding the muddy look of the IRNV in the Op Métro tunnels: “The IRNV has a lot of trouble down in the tunnels due to all the smoke from burning stuff.” However, he also mentioned that with “that said, I think this area might be over nerfed, and it’s hard to get a setting that works everywhere effectively. The bright background of the tunnel makes the system not work so great. It’s not perfect, but at least it’s not a free hack anymore. The changes are by no means set in stone, it’s a living game.” So, look for more updates to come regarding the infamous IRNV scope.

Another admittedly tough balancing act has much to do with the mobile anti-aircraft units. Kertz admits that “It’s still on our radar. Probably the toughest balance issue in the game.” He explains that “the buff to AA vs Infantry was a side effect of buffing the Jets vs Infantry. That’s the way the system works. The AA buff will be removed in the future and the Jet buff will remain.” Another update many Battlefield fans can look forward to. Kerts also talked about the shotguns in Battlefield 3 receiving a slight nerf. However, he assured us that “it’s not that bad, and it’s not getting nerfed hard. The explosive damage will be similar, its the direct hits that aren’t intended to be 1hk with a USAS12.”

Many fans are awaiting news regarding the PS3 input lag issue. All we’ve gotten so far what Community Manager, Daniel Matros has stated: “We couldn’t really find what caused it. We’re working on it though.”

So far DICE has shown some aptitude towards consistent updates with the PC having seen one patch with another one releasing December 6th (you can check out the full patch notes here). The PS3 has also seen a patch while we still await for an incoming Xbox 360 update.

BTW Juan, looks like they may fix the IRNV a little. To be honest, I never thought anything was wrong with it, not many people killed me using it. It's the whiny little bitches that ruined it.

I know one thing, my W/L and K/D are both a ton better when we are playing together.

I can especially tell a huge difference when trying to use tanks and IFV's because the majority of people are inept at being a gunner or helping to repair the tank. Or when I'm trying to help a person by repairing their tank they usually run off and leave me and then get blown up, or turn and position the tank where I get shot by the enemy tank while trying to repair.

I super jested last night when both tanks on my team left me while I was trying to repair them...only to drive 50 feet into a minefield and get blown up. I face palmed so hard. The guy in the 2nd tank should have seen the first one as it was right in front of him, but no. I hear him press down to accelerate as he sees the first one explode, and then he drives straight into the other mines.

It's just hard to do good playing with random people, especially moron asshats like that.

Juan, figured out how to avoid MAV roadkills. The people on the BF3 forum said crouching and going prone made it extremely hard for a MAV to kill you, for some reason.

Also, I always forget about this, but from now on when you're a medic or I'm playing with a medic who dies near me I'm going to start picking up you're/their kit so I can at least revive you guys (if I can get it and do it quick enough) and throw down some health before I pick up my engineer kit again. Good way I can level up my assault without having to play as it that much. Could do it with support too, like the douches we were playing with the other night who wouldn't ever throw ammo down.
