Rofl fidil then.
So W8 actually boots faster and uses less resources than W7. Been using it on the laptop with ClassicShell and its working pretty well. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

It will depend on your hardware but mine feels faster booting and I've seen others say the same thing.

it boots pretty quick for me too, with a ssd I imagine it would be quite a bit quicker even.

resize your main partition before you install, then install to the new section and windows will take care of the dualbooting part, it even gives you a decent menu at boot to choose between w7 and w8. It isn't the old text-only menu, it actually has some prettiness to it

did it on the lappy, worked well but then i told it to default to W7 and it worked normally for a while, then it refused to boot ever again. No safe mode, no regular mode, would just give me a blinking dot in the corner rofl. Probably could have fixed it but the laptop has nothing important so I wiped it.
This lappy would always have problems waking up from hibernate/sleep and whatnot though, so it didn't surprise me much. However, still be careful

Yeah there was nothing wrong with the old one but this new one is fine too. It has prettiness to it but is still simple and useful. Can choose which is the default, how much time it waits before booting, and a couple other settings.

Could also choose default, timeout, etc...only difference is eye candy.
