You mean SMS on your cell phone? Options include:

1. Forward SMS from gvoice to your phone.
2. Install app like gvoice, Talkatone, or GrooveIP.
3. uh...I had a third idea but I forgot.

May check with your provider. Not all of them like the idea of porting your number to Google. I am on Sprint and they work close together to make sure the experience is fluid.

I am sure there are 3rd party apps that do the same thing.

They may not like it but AFAIK there's nothing they can do about it.

I didn't port my number, I have just been giving out my gvoice number instead. Eventually I might port it and keep both numbers on gvoice (you can do that). I'd port it now but Virgin Mobile will cancel my account and I'll lose my $25/month grandfathered plan. I might let it go, drop Virgin, and just use the free plan at RingPlus, but I need more testing...seems a little flaky using RingPlus and Google Voice at times.

Weird. I don't get a delay.

Now if I switch to the stock mms/sms I will get all the gvoice texts and such all of a sudden. Is that what happens to you?

we're talking about the delay when you call someone using gvoice from your phone

you can tell because you talk over each other on accident all the time

happens on my gnex and coworkers iphone

pretty sure it's because when you make a call with gvoice you are calling their "server" or whatever and then it calls the person from your gvoice number. The audio passing through there slows it down a little somehow.

I installed the camera ota for my Maxx yesterday and lost root but good thing jcase already had a new root method for the X that worked for the Maxx too.

I want to try one of the 4.4 roms for the GNex but they apparently have graphical glitches and reboot issues.

But its apparently super smooth, has good battery life, and has a shitload more free memory usually.
