So recently shit just randomly starts crashing on my computer (win 7) and it even does it on a fresh install. Could my hard drive be taking a shit? It's usually shit like windows explorer, etc.

I would suspect CPU overheating (slow fan) or failing RAM.

You can try that or you can burn a memtest disc and let it run overnight and see if you get any errors.

Not sure I'd trust a clean bill of health from the Windows memory diagnostic tool...memtest CD is good stuff.

Will try that tonight then. My laptop has always ran pretty warm. Wonder if it's taking it's toll now.

DV series? Like DV2000, DV9000, etc.
Lots and lots of HPs have badly designed cooling systems and overheating GPUs that unsolder themselves.

So I think it is a memory issue. I didn't run the disk yet but every time I boot into Ubuntu dpkg crashes and according to Google it's because it's ran out of memory. Just swapped my old sticks back in and no crash this time.

Is novell netware the software that lets you basically deploy an image to each computer instead of having to do each install individually?
Im trying to find something to help cut down on the amount of time we spend working/installing/etc in the labs. I need network wide shit!

You're looking for Ghost and its competitors.
Novell Netware was a general networking system competing with Microsoft, providing file and printer sharing (as well as everything from layer 2 up).

Apparently they do.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/w...windows-7.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../hh825039.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dd919179.aspx I bet it's a PITA to use. A quick googling brings up these possibilities: http://www.osalt.com/tag/disk-cloning specifically, this: http://www.osalt.com/fog I just asked my PC tech, she's using Macrium Reflect for XP and just using built-in Windows Backup for Windows 7.
