For me anyway I've always seen my checking as just something to pay bills/etc with. From the time I opened my account I've had operating expenses coming out of my ass, so there's never really been a chance to let it build up. I do try to save, so between that and my retirement funds that are automatically drawn out I don't feel broke. But alot of weeks it's a dance to keep my checking black without transferring something from my savings. IIRC during several months last year I was paying well over $200/week just going to and from work. Then bills after that....

I shake my head sometimes when I think about how much I would have on hand if I just cut out my drive to and from work and things related to that.

I feel better about myself, but not about the situation. It took a turn for what I consider right now to be the "worst". She came over yesterday evening to talk about everything and basically told me that her feelings for me had changed and I was considered to her as a friend now. She said she hasn't been happy in our relationship for the previous year or more. I asked her was she even happy on our wedding as I was just running over with happiness/exctiedness. I honestly was the happiest/proudest person alive. She said she was not. I could tell something was wrong with her that day. I just hoped it was nerves, or ya know, cold feet. Even the honeymoon....boring. I thought it would pass in time and we would move on our happy way. Then 3 months later she tells me shes not happy anymore and it keeps going downhill from there. She said she was at fault for not just declining my proposal or for not breaking it off before it was a done deal. I feel as I've been living a lie for the past 6 months. It hurts to the depest extent right now because I don't understand what happened. Like I've said before she changed as a person 3 years ago when her cousin had an accident and died and she's never been the same since.
The last question I asked her summed it up basically. I said..

"So you've pretty much made up your mind that it won't work, you're not willing to work on anything, but you don't know where to go from here."

"Yeah, thats right."

It seems like it doesn't even bother her at all to basically tell me our marriage is over. its killing me just thinking about it.

That guy I said was over at our house all the time? Yeah, he's filed for divorce from his wife. Rumors are flying everywhere about him and jamie having something going on. I'll admit to having a bad temper, I just hope thats not true for their sake. I might loose my cool and theres no telling what I'd do.
