Ramen is one of the cheapest foods known to man. It's oriental-style noodles, sold for a couple cents per package.

Holy shit, I can't believe someone has never heard of ramen.

How about Cup Noodles and Instant Lunch?

They are ramen with a few more spices, some vegetable bits, and sometimes some dried meat bits thrown in, all in a cup so you just dump hot water in, wait a few minutes, and eat. They're not quite as cheap as ramen but they're easy, convenient, portable, and still shelf-stable.

Yea. I never had any family involvement growing up. So no Thanksgiving dinners or BS like that. Hell I grew up on take out lol.
